I’m Zev Felix, a Family Medicine resident, former Camp Grounded co-founder, climber, maker, and lifelong student of how people heal, connect, and build meaningful lives.

I’ve always been fascinated by people: how we heal, how we connect, and how we make meaning of our lives. That curiosity has taken me from film sets to summer camps, from startup projects to mountain trails, and eventually into hospitals and clinics. Before medicine, I helped build a device-free summer camp where people came to reconnect with themselves and each other. Looking back, the settings changed, but the question never did: what helps people live healthier, more connected, and more meaningful lives? Family Medicine is where I’ve found the privilege of exploring that question alongside patients every day.

01 — Introduction

Before medicine, I helped build a summer camp where adults handed over their phones, left their job titles behind, and spent weekends rediscovering how to be present.

Years later, after caring for my brother through glioblastoma, training in osteopathic medicine, spending long nights in trauma bays and operating rooms, and learning firsthand both the power and limits of modern healthcare, I found myself drawn toward a different kind of question.

The question that guides everything

That question still guides everything I do.
